How does our solar and battery package work?
Our packages include a battery because it's the most effective way for you to save money and make the most of the power you’ll be generating.
If you have solar panels, you can store the energy you generate in a battery. This stored energy can be used during the times of day when electricity from the grid is most expensive, typically between 4 and 7 pm.
To save even more money, you can also charge your battery with grid electricity overnight when rates are lower and use the stored energy during the day and evening to avoid paying higher peak-time costs.

Despite the common belief that the UK's weather isn't ideal for solar energy, solar panels are actually very effective here. Technology has progressed over the years and manufacturers have designed panels to work even on cloudy days and in low light.
What really matters is daylight, which we have plenty of for a large part of the year. This makes solar energy a viable and promising choice for your home.
Getting solar panels up on your house starts with our expert installer popping over to have a good look at your roof. They’ll check things like the roof's shape, how much sun it gets, and if there are any trees shading it.
Once we've got all the details, we’ll come up with the perfect solar panel setup just for your home.
On installation day, or a couple of days before, the team will set up scaffolding for safe roof access. Then, we'll attach the solar panels securely to their frames, making sure they're angled perfectly to catch the most sun.
Next, we wire up the panels to an inverter, which turns the solar energy into electricity you can use. Your smart meter means you can monitor energy coming from and going back into the grid through an app, and we’ll help you set that up too.
After everything’s hooked up, we’ll do a final check to make sure it's all ticking along nicely. We'll walk you through how everything works, hand over all the manuals and warranty info, and give you the lowdown on getting the most out of your new solar setup.
Finally, we'll remove the scaffolding. And that’s it! Most solar systems don’t need much looking after, but we’ll remotely check its performance and get in touch if anything needs looking into. The whole process is pretty quick, often done in a day or two, and you’ll have a neat, safe solar power system ready to save you money and help the planet.
Yes, even if your charger is not 'Solar Ready', you simply top up your battery with solar power and your battery then supplies the energy your car needs.
Sadly, there are no nationwide grants for solar power available in England and Wales. However, in England, around 45 councils offer grants for people without a gas boiler via the Home Upgrade Grant. In Scotland, Home Energy Scotland is there to enhance house efficiency and install green energy.
If you receive specific benefits, your energy supplier might offer you an ECO4 grant to improve your home's efficiency. Regardless, everyone can gain from selling excess energy back to an energy supplier, a process known as the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), and we're here to help you secure the best deal.
